"World War II and a New Womanhood." EN223 Women and Lit 19401970. N.p., n.d. Web. 05 May 2017.
In this picture it shows how African American women were also included in work forces as white women were. All women in general were working in factories and in any jobs that were available that the men weren't present for. Many women chose to work instead of being in the household doing chores as usual. Women in this era wanted to work and show men that "they could do it" and that they can do a mans job the same or even better than they could while they were at war. Much of the war materials used in the war were provided by women or made women in the factories.
